What Is Branding Photography?

You’ve worked hard to build your business and brand, creating a logo, mission statement, and social media profiles. There are a variety of elements that go into your brand identity, from your promises to your customers to your website to the way you present yourself on your Instagram and Facebook business pages.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, and that’s especially true when it comes to branding. The quickest way to get your brand identity across is through the images you use on your website. That’s why branding photography is essential for any business owner.

Professional Images for your Brand

Branding photography is a collection of high-quality, professional images created to visually represent your business and demonstrate your brand identity. These photos can include images of you and your team members, your workspace, your products, and any part of your process or daily activities.

Brand photos are just like headshots, but instead of promoting yourself, you’re promoting your company. Quality branding images can make all the difference on your business website and social media profiles, promoting your company as professional and consistent.

Branding Photography of Business OwnerHumanize your company

One of the greatest things about branding photography is that it gives potential and current customers a look at the faces behind your business. You may be intimidated by the idea of putting your face out there, but consumers are more likely to interact with and trust a company if they can see the people behind the brand.

Branding photos not only show customers who you and your team are, but they also give interested consumers a peek behind the curtain, so to speak, allowing them to see your process, your products, and what you do every day. While it’s a great idea to have quality product images, it’s also important to feature people in those images to help potential customers see how the product can be used in real life.

When someone visits your website or social media profile for the first time, you don’t want them to be put off by low-quality images. Professional branding photos create visual interest in your business and give visitors to your website a positive first impression of your brand. The better you present your company, the more likely people will be to get and stay interested in what you offer!

Increase engagement with your brand

While strong content is essential to creating a solid brand identity, visuals are even more important, especially since quality images encourage more people to engage with your business online. Facebook posts with images receive 2.3x more engagement than those without images, according to Hubspot. That’s why images are so essential, especially high-quality, professional branding photos.

You can use your photos everywhere

Branding photos are an investment, but one that’s well worth it! You’ll keep finding places where these photos come in handy, from your website and social profiles to paid advertising and email newsletters. Having these photos on hand makes it easier to properly promote your business and show potential and current clients just how professional you are.

Arco – Commercial Photography – Romulus, MI

We stopped by this large industrial building in Romulus for a shoot. Arco built this warehouse, and it’s currently used to store food for grocery stores. It was quite chilly in there! We were going to shoot aerial shots of the building, as well, but because of its proximity to the airport, we weren’t able to fly our drone to take photos legally. If you’re ever interested in aerial photography know that FAA regulations may prohibit it. Some areas are not safe spaces for drones to fly. Now, let’s check out this warehouse!

Terminal Coding Competition – Event Photography – Ann Arbor, MI

University of Michigan held a Coding Competition at the Michigan League on their Ann Arbor campus. The competition started at 11 a.m. and students spent the day coding for Terminal, a game where the goal is to beat the “boss” by writing algorithms that would automate their gameplay. The students were broken into teams of three and together they worked to defeat the boss in Terminal and to win a cash prize plus exclusive job opportunities. This event was hosted by Society of Women Engineers and Correlation One, and sponsored by Citadel Securities, who had recruiters present to talk with students about their interest in coding. It was an all day event with lunch included. At the end of the day, only two teams could win with their boss-beating algorithms. It was a super cool event to witness with so many intelligent and motivated young adults. Check it out!
