What should I wear?

Your Real Producers session includes up to 3 outfits. Clothing items should show your style and personality, but also convey a message of professionalism to those who see your images. Solid colors are best. Stay away from busy patterns and brightly colored clothing as they will detract the viewer’s attention from you. We recommend wearing dark colors such as black, navy blue, gray, brown, dark purple, or dark green. Suits are great. Sweaters also work well. Layers with a light-colored shirt underneath and a dark-colored jacket or sweater on top are great. U-necked or v-necked shirts are great. Avoid clothing that is uncomfortable, too tight, too big, or too revealing. We recommend long sleeves or 3/4 length sleeves. Sleeveless and short sleeves can draw too much attention to upper arms and away from your face. All clothing should be clean and wrinkle free. You’d be surprised how much detail the camera can capture.

What about hair and makeup?

For men, natural is best. Be sure to have your beard or mustache trimmed prior to your session and your eyebrows groomed. We can use a translucent powder that can be used to remove shine from your skin at the shoot if you’d like.

For women, we highly recommend camera ready, professional hair and makeup for your shoot which you can get done at Beauty Bar & Boutique in Plymouth. https://www.beautybarandboutique.com/ Hair and makeup is not included with your Real Producers session. Tell the makeup artist no shine or shimmer. A matte look is best. You are also welcome to have your hair and makeup artist come to our studio as we have a dedicated hair and makeup area. Just coordinate the timing with us.

What else should I do to prepare for the shoot?

Be sure to book your session far enough in advance that you can prepare. Getting a professional facial, hair cut, hair color, and eye brow waxing about a week before the shoot can ensure that you will look your best. Do not do these things the day before your session. Be sure to eat well, drink plenty of water, and get plenty of rest leading up to the session as well. Taking proper care of your body (or not) will show in your images.

When should I arrive?

Please plan to arrive a couple minutes before your scheduled session time. This time will allow us to start your session on time, relax, check your hair, etc. without losing any time from your session. We will photograph you for about 1 hour and then select your favorite images right after the shoot. Please allot a total of 2 hours for the session. If you would like a longer session, please discuss this with Jennifer at the time of booking.

How much retouching do you do?

Retouching provides the highest level of attention to detail and includes things such as reducing or removing wrinkles, blemishes, stray hairs, scars, tattoos, shiny skin, and dark circles, as requested. The key is to enhance the image without making you look fake.

Can I use the images for my business or personal use?

You will select 3-5 final images to be sent directly to the magazine editors for use in the magazine. There is no cost for the photo shoot or to have your images in the magazine. You may choose to purchase images on the day of the session if you would like to use them elsewhere beside the magazine. You may not use the purchased images (in social media, website, printed materials, etc.) until your magazine feature comes out.

How much do images cost to purchase?

Our goal of every session is to create a portfolio of images that you love. We promise that your images will be so good you’ll be tempted to buy them all! Each purchased digital image includes full retouching, any resizing or cropping that you may need, and the high resolution digital image delivered via an emailed download link. Digital images for Real Producers have special pricing of just $190 each or 3 for $380 (buy 2 get 1 free!). View our product guide to learn more about our portrait collections, wall art, and albums.
