We’re pretty excited to be featured on the Animoto Blog! Author, Megan O’Neill, interviewed Jennifer and wrote the article to provide tips for shooting interiors. Check it out here:
We shot a Google Business View tour of Dr. McGarry’s dental office early in the morning. It is a quaint office in what seemed to be a quiet location. It has a very home-like feel. They even have photographs of their patients up on the wall, members of the “Cavity Free Club,” and a small album of newborns that are yet to have their toothy smiles. For the kids, they have a small area with a few toys, and a little pouch for the Tooth Fairy.
The office was very open, once you made it out of the waiting room. Instead of being shut inside a treatment room, waiting for a hygienist or the doctor, there are no doors that close, so you’re never truly alone or isolated from the people that are taking care of you.
Tuesday morning, racing to beat the eventual rain, we started off bright and early in Farmington Hills.
Listed by Earl Newman, this Fieldstone home is right off of the intersection of Twelve Mile and Middlebelt. A 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home with a detached 2-car garage, it also features a front space on the main floor which can be used as an office, sitting room, or library. The patio in the backyard is surrounded by tall trees, creating an air of privacy from neighboring houses and the main road that runs behind the home, which also provide nice scenery and add to the landscaping.
The master bedroom has an attached walk-in closet for extra storage, vanity and powder area, and bathroom complete with a bathtub, glass door shower, and double sink. The bedroom itself has a double window that looks out onto the street, and is very vibrant and warm.
The remaining two bedrooms share a large bathroom in the hallway, and are plenty spacious and bright for children, guests, offices, and more.
Many of the house’s features are very modern, including kitchen and bathroom sinks, and lighting. The granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and lightly stained cabinets and floor give the kitchen a bright and new look. The kitchen and small dining area also have an island in the center that has a power outlet perfect for an on-the-go morning, and sliding glass door that leads into the backyard.
The home also has a larger dining room for hosting company, just off the kitchen and connected to the sitting room.
There is also a larger living room with a peaked ceiling and fireplace, overlooking the backyard, perfect for lounging around on rainy or snowy days all year round. Especially since the weather this summer has been anything but predictable.
On June 24, we went out to Novi again for another real estate shoot. The home, a high-ceiling, 2,264 sq. foot home listed by Joy Montgomery of Montgomery Hill Realty, is for sale at $275,000.
With high ceilings that culminate in a point just above the garage on the left side of the house, the home was architecturally beautiful and fun to photograph, providing for some interesting vertical shots in places you would least expect, like the foyer or the bathrooms.
The home is very open, and is much larger than it appears on the outside due to the floor plan. The natural lighting provides for a nice glow throughout the home, regardless of the time of day, especially in the master bedroom, which is large and L-shaped, with two large windows overlooking the street.
The main level is perfect for entertaining company, with plenty of space to host in either sitting room, the dining area, or the larger living room. The backyard is bordered by trees on the back side and has a patio area just off the main living room, with sliding glass doors to get in and out.
All in all, nothing felt cramped, and moving around the house (even with a bunch of photo equipment in your hands) was easy and manageable. The house is painted in very light, neutral and calming colors, giving the place an easy and home-y feel.
Just north of Chelsea, Michigan, this 1998 luxury home at the end of a private drive has been listed for $939,000 by Jeff Klink of Reinhart Realtors.
With 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms to complete the two-story home, the property is the definition of privacy in its secluded location, allowing for large windows that let in natural lighting in every room of the house, including the master bathroom which features a private veranda. The property sits on just over 11 acres of land, and has a beautiful view of a small pond and natural skyline just off the back deck.
The kitchen is one of the biggest bonuses of the house. With granite counter tops, hickory flooring, and Amish-made Graybal cabinets, the chef’s kitchen features a stove-top island, snack bar, pantry, and a very open floor plan: leading right into a breakfast nook and family room.
The home also features an office space, with built in book shelves, and full laundry room on the main floor. The master bedroom and bath are also on the main floor, featuring a spa bathtub, tile shower, two vanity sinks, and dual walk-in closets. The main-floor living area also has a fireplace in the sitting area just off of the kitchen.
The lower-level is also fully finished with a kitchen, fireplace, and bathroom, walking out onto the back patio and in-ground pool. The pool itself comes with a slide, and is surrounded by an iron fence for safety. In case of rain, the deck overhangs across the patio, providing a dry space to listen to the rain or host a few friends.
With very few close-by neighbors, the home offers a bit of an escape from the suburban lifestyle of southeastern Michigan. Take a tour of the home here!
To accompany the photo shoot at Mester Road, listed by Jeff Klink of Reinhart Realtors for $939,000, we also provided a narrated video tour of the property of the different features. Beginning on the outside, with the landscaped front, and moving just inside the foyer, you can immediately see the beauty of the home and the luxury it will provide future homeowners and guests.
The video continues with a look into nearly every room of the house, showing both a wider view as if you were standing in the room for yourself, and various intricate details of the house’s most interesting features — including marble flooring, wood-work, granite counter tops, appliances, and even a look into the backyard pool.
The video ends with the home’s gorgeous view — a look off the back deck and into the yard, complete with surrounding trees, pond, and beautiful natural skyline.

This is a promo video that I did for the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group at Connection Church in Canton, Michigan. I interviewed about 15 moms total and shot this during two MOPS meetings, totaling about 6 hours of production work. I think the final video came out great, and I hope that it will be useful for the MOPS group to gain more moms to their ministry.
Trainers Total Fitness from Jennifer Arnett on Vimeo.
We shot Trainers Total Fitness, on Orchard Lake Road, just as they opened. This gym is the fitness center’s second location, the other in Ferndale. Steven Pierce, the owner and fitness expert, has even been found on Fox 2 News giving in-home fitness tips.
Pierce wants to focus on metabolic training for fitness center members, keeping heart rates up and monitored and maximizing calorie burn. With a focus on personal training only, members won’t get lost in a big atmosphere, and they won’t be at a loss for what to do with all of the equipment they have on site if they can’t afford a trainer. This is what sets Trainers Total Fitness apart: certified personal trainers will always help a member reach their goal, and no one will slip through the cracks.
With this video, we wanted to show the personality behind the fitness center, interviewing trainers to set the business apart from other gyms in the area. Many of the certified trainers there began their journeys as clients, and now find themselves working amongst a team of amazing people. The energy, they say, is always positive for members and employees.
